Frequently-Asked Questions
Q. I'm getting a message 'Access denied at present - someone else is using the system exclusively' when I try to get into a module, yet I know that I'm the only one here. How do I get into the program?
A. Use Superman to 'Clear the System Flags'. First make sure, however, that no-one else is logged in to any module. This message is likely to have occurred because someone ended a previous session without logging out correctly - perhaps because of network problems, a power cut. or a system crash which needed 'Task Manager' to close the application.
Q. I can't get into SuperMan as I've forgotten the password.
A. Contact your local support helpline or call Informatics on 01829 782130 and explain your predicament very nicely. Of course, there is another solution to this problem but that revolves around you not forgetting the password in the first place!
Q. How is it possible to add a new supplier 'on the fly' whilst raising an order in Premier Finance?
A. When raising a Detailed or a Summary Order, click on the [...] button to select a supplier, then click on 'Include not in Use'. This will now give you additional options to Add a new supplier and/or Edit details of an existing supplier. It is a quicker alternative to using the Add/Modify Suppliers option on the System Menu. A similar technique is used in the Voluntary Funds module to add a new name on the fly from within the Receipt or Payment options.
Q. When I save a report to Excel, I get an error with 'OLE Error Code 0x........ The Server threw an exception.'
A. If you have MS Office 2003 this should be resolved by applying service pack 3. Contact your local IT helpline for details of how to do this. If you have MS Office 2007 or 2010 then please contact us for an update to either Premier Finance (build 96) or Inventory (build 15).
Q. I get the message 'Invalid directory path in 'XXX.TXT' when I try to get in to any module and it then throws me out.
A. You have probably lost your network connection, or you may be logged into your workstation as someone else. Check in 'My Computer' to see whether the network drive where your data is stored is listed. If not I suggest you take a well-earned break - get a cup of coffee or go shopping for a while - and try again later when normal service has been resumed.
